Welcome to Rockside Music. We proudly offer the highest quality music lessons for all ages. In order to sign-up for our lessons you need to agree to our Terms and Conditions bellow which covers policies and guidelines for our school.

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENTS

  • A $30 non-refundable registration fee is due at initial sign-up; this fee is waived for current students, charter students, or when offered as part of seasonal promotions;
  • Tuition is a flat monthly fee which is based on a 48-week year. Students enrolled for the entire year are expected to have 48 to 51 lessons in total depending on the day of the week and it varies from year to year;
  • Any registration taking place after the first week of any month will be prorated for the first month and full monthly tuition applies thereafter;
  • Cash and Checks are still accepted provided payments are either mailed or placed on payment deposit box inside the studio, and received by us no later than the 1st of the month or before;
  • A $25 late fee will be assessed on the 6th of each month if payments aren’t received by then, or if transactions are declined;
  • A $25 fee will be charged for each returned check (this charge is in addition to any applicable late charges stated above);
  • Educational material, music books, instrument rental and other accessories are not included with tuition.

CHARTER SCHOOL FUNDS

Families using charter funds for music lessons need to be responsible for keeping track of approved funds and whether the proper amount of funding has been allocated to cover lessons. Rockside Music assumes complete responsibility for processing purchase orders and/or certificates and invoicing charter schools for the allocated lessons ordered. Any amount that goes beyond the allocated funding on purchase orders or certificates, are responsibility of the families. We do not keep track of whether any student is in need to order further funding at any time while enrolled.

PARENT OBSERVATION

Parents are welcome to sit in and observe lessons inside the room. We, however, encourage parents to monitor lessons from our waiting lobby which streams live feeds from all of our lesson rooms at all times. DO NOT and we cannot stress this enough, please DO NOT leave your child unattended prior or after the lesson. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR WATCHING YOUR CHILD BEFORE OR BEYOND HIS/HER SCHEDULED LESSON TIME. Most of our lessons at Rockside Music are back-to-back and teachers cannot make sure to attend to your child before and beyond his/her lesson time. We are also not responsible for any siblings or friends who accompany your child to their lessons. Please respect this policy as we try to make our music school environment as safe as possible.

DISCONTINUATION POLICY

Membership will be on a month-to-month basis. However, Rockside Music requires a two-week notice minimum for any student wanting to discontinue lessons. Such notice needs to be received by us no later than on the 15th of the month prior to the month in which student will withdraw from lessons. (For example: If you want the student to stop lessons starting in March, Feb 15this the absolute latest we need to receive notice in order to avoid being charged for March). There will be no exceptions. Failure to follow this will result in another month being billed and charged whether or not the student attends the remaining lessons. Rockside Music reserves the right to terminate student enrollment with us at any time if any of the following circumstances occur:

  • Failure to pay tuition on time;
  • Uncooperative attitude;
  • Repeated missed lessons with no excusable reasons;
  • Inappropriate conduct.

PERFORMANCE EVENTS

Rockside Music offers student performance events such as recitals, showcases, open houses, and full production events at which students have the opportunity to perform on a real stage, with professional sound, lights, and production. While smaller recitals, showcases, and other events performed at Rockside Music premises are completely FREE of charge, larger productions, or performances at other venues may incur a participation fee (TBD) to cover costs.

CANCELATIONS, ABSENCES, AND MAKE-UP LESSONS

There will be no tuition refund for any missed lessons. A Make-up Lesson Credit will be issued when a lesson is cancelled with at least 24-hour advance notice (by email, text, or online through our portal). Cancellations made with less than 24-hour notice will not qualify for a Make-up Lesson Credit. In case of sickness, provided we are notified at least 4 hours prior scheduled lesson, the teacher will prepare a pre-recorded video lesson so the student can take it at any time from home. No more than three (3) Make-up Lesson Credits can be pending at a time per membership. Credits can be used to schedule a Make-up Lesson through our online portal or by contacting us ASAP.

Make-up Lessons cannot be rescheduled. Make-up Lesson Credits expire 30 days after they have been issued for any non-staff cancelation.

  • If for any reason your teacher is unable to teach on any given day, a substitute will be provided. If a substitute cannot be arranged, your original teacher will contact you to schedule a Make-up lesson. Regular lesson cancelation policy also applies to lessons with a substitute teacher. No Make-up credit will be issued for last minute substitutions.
  • If your teacher becomes unavailable for regular lessons, a new teacher with similar style will be recommended to you but you will have the option to choose a different teacher of choice, as long as the requested teacher has available time slots.
  • While most make-ups should be done the week after cancelled lessons, sometimes, it might take a few weeks for make-up lessons to be scheduled depending on instructor’s and room availability. We also offer a variety of additional solutions for a student to use their make-up credits (contact us for more details). No credit will be issued in any form (including ability to schedule a Make-up lesson) on no-shows.
  • Any instructor-missed make-up lessons that cannot be provided for any reason (including student’s inability to attend available alternate schedule including an online lesson on Zoom, or a pre-recorded video lesson) within 30 days of original scheduled lesson, will result in a credit issued to student’s account in the pro-rated amount paid for that month, upon client’s request. The refund amount will be calculated by dividing the monthly tuition paid that month by the number of scheduled lessons which will equal the amount each lesson is worth that month.

SUMMER AND TIME SLOT SECURITY

During the summer months of June, July, and August, exceptionally, students are allowed to request 3 (three) excusable absences which will not be charged on their monthly tuition.

The only way to guarantee current time slot and teacher is to stay enrolled throughout the summer, with the exception of the excusable absences above.

ON-SITE GUIDELINES

  • Rockside Music requests families to maintain good hygiene while in our facility by washing their hands prior to their lessons. We also have installed hand sanitizer dispensers in our entrance area and all of our lesson rooms. Please use it in addition to hand washing and not in place of.
  • We kindly ask you to please not arrive earlier than a couple minutes prior to your lesson, nor stay longer than a couple minutes after it as we are trying to avoid overcrowding our lobby area.
  • We are also urging families to limit to one person per family in waiting area. Also, please keep children from running around the studio or playing with water dispenser. We understand that often families and friends might want to gather either before or after lessons. We urge you to do this outside.
  • If a child arrives for a music lesson and is visibly unwell or exhibiting symptoms of illness, we will kindly request that the parents or guardians be prepared to take the child back home to rest and recover. This measure is essential to protect the health of all individuals within our music school and maintain a safe learning environment for everyone involved.
